VitalOS Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 16, 2026
This policy covers the current VitalOS iOS MVP beta. This build does not include accounts, backend sync, subscriptions, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, cloud AI, direct Garmin/WHOOP/Oura/Fitbit/Samsung integrations, or Android Health Connect.
What VitalOS Is
VitalOS is a wellness and fitness app that helps explain Apple Health data with recovery, sleep quality, daily load, trends, confidence, and score-receipt views.
Health Data We Read
With your permission, VitalOS reads selected Apple Health / HealthKit data to power wellness and fitness insights. Depending on what is available on your device, this may include:
- Heart rate
- Heart rate variability
- Resting heart rate
- Step count
- Active energy
- Exercise minutes
- Sleep analysis
- Blood oxygen
- VO2 Max / cardio fitness
- Respiratory rate
- Workouts
You control HealthKit permissions in iOS Settings and Apple Health. You can revoke access at any time.
How We Use Health Data
VitalOS uses HealthKit data to:
- Compute VitalOS Recovery, Sleep Quality, Daily Load, and score confidence.
- Show supporting vitals, trends, missing-data notes, and score receipts.
- Explain why a score moved using available signals and personal baselines.
- Provide general wellness and training guidance.
VitalOS is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent medical conditions. Insights are for general wellness and fitness purposes only.
Where Data Is Stored
In this MVP, HealthKit-derived metrics, scores, guidance, preferences, and sync status are stored locally on your device. Release builds use device-protected local storage with a SecureStore-backed encryption key.
VitalOS does not automatically send HealthKit data to a VitalOS backend in this MVP.
QA Exports
Beta builds may include an explicit Export QA Data tool. QA exports are created locally only when you choose to export them. They may include health samples from the selected window.
VitalOS does not automatically upload QA exports. Only share QA exports through the agreed beta intake channel, and do not post them publicly.
Sharing And Advertising
VitalOS does not sell HealthKit data. VitalOS does not use HealthKit data for advertising, resale, or advertising-related data mining. VitalOS does not disclose HealthKit data to third parties without your explicit consent.
Score Transparency
The public beta scoring model is documented at Score Algorithm. Scores are wellness summaries, not clinical assessments, and may be wrong when data is missing, delayed, or inaccurate.
Your Controls
- Revoke HealthKit permissions in iOS Settings or Apple Health.
- Clear local VitalOS data from the app when that control is available in the build.
- Delete the app to remove app-local data from the device.
- Choose whether to create and share a QA export.
